Ethan Mikeal Avalos pleads guilty in blackmail sex case
KSDK — A 27-year-old St. Louis City man pleaded guilty for blackmailing a medical professional who solicited a prostitute on Craigslist, US Attorney Richard Callahan said Thursday.
According to court documents, between late 2007 to December 2008, the defendant, identified as Ethan Mikeal Avalos, extorted $11,500 from a person to keep from revealing that the victim had several paid sexual encounters. Those sexual encounters occurred at the Drury Hotel in Chesterfield.
In response to the threats, the victim made several cash drop-offs to an individual at the registration desk at that Drury Hotel in late 2008.  Those cash drop-offs in the blackmail sex case totaled approximately $8,000.
Avalos also told the victim he was a Marine and was being sent overseas, and did not contact the victim until November 2009. Avalos threatened to expose the paid sexual encounters once again if the victim did not pay him. When the victim did not immediately respond, Avalos sent a threatening email in December 2009.

She added that Parma Heights is looking into starting a community garden.
Five Ridgewood Leaders Club students put together a presentation to the Mott Foundation to garner the $2,000 grant.
The success of the gardens depends on three things. They must be maintained, harvested and shared with the community, Wise said.

The bullets that hit her home are believed to be stray rounds in an unrelated shooting. That victim, an unidentified man in his early 20s, was shot in the abdomen; he was hospitalized and is expected to make a full recovery.
Local authorities confirmed that the mayor was not the target of the shooting, and blamed the escalation in violence — as has been widely reported here — on the warming temperatures.
Washington Park, a St. Louis suburb, is home to 5,400 people. The village has seen its share of struggles recently, as the News-Democrat previously reported:
Washington Park declared bankruptcy in July and several village employees, including Thornton’s former assistant, have been prosecuted by the federal government for stealing from the village. Washington Park is an older urban community bordered by Interstate 64 and East St. Louis, noted for its highly visible strip clubs.

St Louis Strip Clubs: Collinsville bans stripper-mobiles

Posted in St Louis strip clubs at 8:25 am by strippertease

The Collinsville City Council last week banned advertising from mobile platforms in the city.
The ordinance is largely intended to limit so-called ‘stripper-mobiles,” or trucks with glassed-in portions where half-clothed dancers perform. Adult entertainment clubs use the vehicles to advertise, especially around sporting events in St. Louis.
At least one was seen in Collinsville this spring.
The law bans advertising and live entertainment from a platform on a moving vehicle. It cites a need to limit visual blight, distractions and exhaust emissions.
Violators face fines up to $750.

NFL and union officials discussed adding two games to the regular season – and cutting two exhibitions – when they met Wednesday.
– Goodell says he still doesn’t have enough information to make a decision on possibly disciplining Tennessee quarterbackl Vince Young, who got into a fight at a Dallas strip club.
