The LaBarbera-authored posting that contained the excerpt from Whiteman’s affidavit asserted that Jennings “should have been banned from working with schoolchildren because of it (and for allowing a “youth” panel on “queer sex” in the first place). That is, if liberal educationists and the media truly cared as much about kids as they do about advancing trendy agendas. Instead, Jennings has been promoted to one of the highest positions in the world of education.”
LaBarbera and Camenker were both in Maine earlier this week, as part of a press conference organized by Maine Grassroots Coalition, an anti-gay group headed by equality opponent Paul Madore, seeking to convince voters to support a ballot initiative that would rescind the right of Maine’s gay and lesbian families to wed. Among other accusations, LaBarbera said that the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force operated from “one of the most radical sexual agendas ever conceived,” suggesting that the group sought to repeal laws banning prostitution and public sex.

… While working at these government run facilities,” said Fogt, “Alcorn realized the girls that were involved in drug use, prostitution, abuse and crime would return to their destructive lifestyles as soon as they were released from custody. Time and time again, she saw the same girls coming back to the correctional facilities with the same charges they had previously faced. Nancy knew that only Jesus could bring restoration into the lives of these girls who were so desperately hurting. God was calling her to step out and do something to help these women in need. In 1983, a friend convinced her to move to Monroe, Louisiana. She was struck by the number of kids in need there and the lack of resources to help them, so she bought a small home and began what she hoped would be an alternative to secular treatment.”

As they made their way through the heaps of trash at their feet, the men looked down — and immediately realized they were standing in the midst of one of the most ghastly crime scenes their city has ever known.
Lying face down in the furnace room, her pants removed, hands tied behind her back — and her head nowhere in sight — is how the two unsuspecting scavengers found the body of a young, African-American female on February 28, 1983.
Frightened and beyond mortified, the men ran from the darkness out into the street, calling the cops from the first phone they could find. Though police quickly swarmed the area, her killer would evade them.
Investigators never could have imagined for just how long.
Responding officers initially thought the victim might have been a local prostitute. That is, until they turned the body over and realized it was a pre-pubescent girl. From their estimates, she was anywhere from 8 to 13 years old.

Typically when blacks talk of the past and about how “things ain’t what they used to be,” it often is a reference to the civil rights movement and the time in which my community rallied together for a common cause — equality. We saw remnants of that synergy this week as Al Sharpton, the NAACP and several black NFLers openly opposed Rush Limbaugh’s inclusion on a team trying to purchase the St. Louis Rams.
And it is true, we were more willing to be our brother’s keepers 40 years ago. But if we’re being honest, not all of our brothers and sisters were worth trying to keep back then.
Not every black person was willing to sacrifice self-interest for the better of the whole. Quite a few of us sold out and were more than willing to be puppets or manipulate racial tension to keep crumbs of power or money.
We still had black-on-black crime, gambling, theft, prostitution, murder.

Mayor Hoechst: First of all, it’s not legal. Second, it’s not something you want to be known for. I’m working with the city attorney and police chief. We’re sending out a letter to all liquor-license holders to let them know this activity is not going to be tolerated. There is no “three strikes, you’re out.” The first time you’re caught, your liquor license is going to be revoked for some time and you’re going to be fined. Why do you think Alton bars have become known for this kind of activity?
I have no idea. I’m not naive. I know it’s been going on. But why was it tolerated? I don’t have an answer for that.
Last year your predecessor [former mayor Donald Sandidge] told us that one of the reasons the city couldn’t crack down on topless bars was that the indecency law only applied to females. Did Alton officials pass the ordinance — discussed last year — that would also ban male topless bartenders?

By comparison, Keith Olbermann is a beacon of reasoned restraint. The same with Chris Matthews, who has the eternal thrill going up his leg. So, too, Anderson Cooper, Ed Schultz, Katie Couric, David Letterman, Bill Maher and so on.
The latter are all thoughtful commentators who would be seen as wonderful additions to the pristine NFL community, which has a well-documented history of inclusiveness.
Making it “rain” at a strip club before firing several gunshots is not “divisive.” Accidentally shooting yourself at a nightclub is not “divisive.” Killing ill-performing fighting dogs is not “divisive.” Vehicular homicide is not “divisive.” We could go on and on with the felonious habits of the NFL, but this is not a tome.
Limbaugh’s fiery political words are hurtful. Actions that lead to a person becoming paralyzed after being shot at a strip club are unfortunate.

I suppose I should be ashamed to admit it, but I sort of wanted a black quarterback to excel in order to shut up the bigots who said blacks weren’t smart enough to do the job. Judging by the media backlash, I’m the only sportswriter who ever felt that way.
It became Limbaugh’s Jimmy The Greek Moment, and a major reason Sharpton was so pleased Wednesday night when Limbaugh dropped out of the proposed ownership group.
“It’s a moral victory for all Americans,” he said.
For some reason, the moral lessons from a song started floating through my head.
“What you gon’ do with all that ass?”All that ass inside them jeans?”I’m a make, make, make, make you scream.”Make you scream, make you scream.”
The Reverend apparently finds the Black Eyed Peas positively Fergalicious. I know I do.
My Humps has been on my iPod for years. And unlike Limbaugh, what red-blooded footballer wouldn’t want to work for someone who once played a stripper on The Sopranos?

There’s the possibility – Limbaugh, yes desires an NFL franchise, but easily could see the present reactions playing out; so he’s strategically setting himself up to be cast as the innocent business man victim who simply wanted to participate in capitalism, and the liberal Jew lawyers and uppity multi million dollar Niggers stoned-walled him.
Rush, yet another innocent White male reverse-racism victim . . . in Obama’s New America.
Mr Goodell, how could any organization even debate allowing this still blotted bigoted bastard to join anything but the KKK, let-alone an NFL franchise? On top of that – can White Americans be so very out-of- touch with reality they actually believe Black players and coaches are apathetically “OK” with enriching this racist blowhard?
I want those owners and sportswriters who’re wish-washy about allowing an individual – who’s plotting and planning methods to . . . un-seat this nation’s first Black American President – to grasp this; all Hell’s gonna break lose . . . and rightfully so if you let a race pimp-like Rush slip-off his Klan cap, and put on an

Dave Checketts, a sports businessman who is leading the effort to buy the team (and keep it in St. Louis), dumped Limbaugh from the $750 million deal based in large part on the resurfacing of controversial comments Limbaugh made during an aborted 2003 stint as an NFL commentator.
“It has become clear that (Limbaugh’s) involvement in our group has become a complication and a distraction to our intentions; endangering our bid to keep the team in St. Louis,” Checketts said in a statement. “As such, we have decided to move forward without him and hope it will eventually lead us to a successful conclusion.”
You know what? As much as we loathe poverty pimps like Al Sharpton pouncing on this nonsense, the fact is Limbaugh’s mouth landed him into this mess, and we feel no particular pity for him.
